About Centre Stage

In a nutshell: We are professionally trained and qualified teachers. We are all CRB checked and insured. We have helped students to develop confidence and self assurance through theatre performance skills since 1996. Classes are friendly and fun and suit students aged 8yrs+. There are regular opportunities to perform and sessions are held at Whippingham Community Hall on Sunday mornings.

Phone Genny with your contact information on 883341. If you decide to stay with us you will only need to pay for the remainder of the term.

You can see our Course Fees by downloading the pdf. As a totally independent organisation we do not have to meet the demands of "franchises" and so our charges are almost certainly cheaper than other similar organisations and we do not have "hidden costs" that only become apparent later.

We are proud of the quality of our work and suggest when considering alternative groups that you should check qualifications, experience and student ratios to staff.

What do we do?

We do one hour each of Drama, Dance and Singing leading to an annual performance at a local theatre.

  • Q. Will I cope if I have not done anything before?
    A. Yes. Many of our students start with little or no previous experience.
  • Q. What type of shows do you do?
    A. We choose either a musical or a show linked by a theme. We choose less well known musicals. That way you really do learn something new and avoid the temptation to copy favourite performers.
  • Q. Does each age group have its own show?
    A. Sometimes, but usually we all work happily together.
  • Q. Some schools seem to have a "star" system, do you?
    A. No we value all our pupils and everyone gets a chance to perform.
  • Q. Do you have a Child Protection Policy?
    A. Yes you can contact us for a copy if you wish, and all our staff are CRB checked.
